Diva Mariah Carey was a no show at the taping of the tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center. The staff and crew waited a whopping 3 hours for her to show up. But after those 3 long hours, NBC said, LET’S MOVE ON!
Apparently this Diva is living up to the moniker of Diva. She is known to be one of the most difficult people to deal with when it comes to her personal demands. To do damage control, Mariah went on Twitter to say…
“Last night’s situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you,” the singer wrote to her 15 million followers.
“You’ve kept me here, in your hearts, and I keep you in mine always. We are #lambily! #ThereForMe. I will be opening tonight’s live show in Rockefeller center with “All I Want For Christmas Is You”!!!!”
NBC was asked what they thought about the debacle with the Diva, the only thing they had to say was she will be performing live on “Christmas In Rockefeller Center” show, opening the National hour at 8 p.m. E.T.”
I think NBC handled it pretty well. I have a feeling that NBC execs won’t be using the Diva for anything in the near future. It’s actions like these that make stars lose fans and eventually become irrelevant in pop culture. There’s an old saying, “treat people the way you want to be treated.” But I have a feeling this won’t be the last time we’ll hear about Mariah’s Divatastic tantrums.
