More women are coming out of the woodwork to sue Bill Cosby for sexual assault/rape. A woman claims that she was raped by the former Jello Pudding spokesperson back in 1974 at the Playboy Mansion. The accuser claims Cosby got her drunk and touched her in appropriately and forced her to perform sexual acts on him.
The 77 year old comedic legend refuses to address the barrage of allegations that have put a ginormous punch to the face of Cosby’s “good-guy “reputation.
Cosby’s lawyer, Martin Singer, shrugs at these allegations and has blasted the accusers’ stories as “increasingly ridiculous and … completely illogical.” One thing Cosby has going for himself, if these allegations are true, is that there is a statutes of limitations. The “victims” can’t go after him for these allegations that occurred in 1974. Most Entertainment Lawyers speculate that this law suit won’t make it to trial, but most likely will settle out of court.
The question that the general public has is why did all these women who were allegedly assaulted wait so long? Apparently most of them were young and afraid since Cosby was one of the most powerful men on television when these events occurred. But now that more and more women are coming forward, they feel emboldened to do the same.
