Beautiful and strong skin, nails and hair are things that many people want. You don’t have to rely on genetics, though. There are vitamins that can help create radiant skin, strong nails and gorgeous hair. Discover which vitamins they are.

  • Vitamin A

If your skin is dry or you have acne, then vitamin A might help improve your skin. A form of vitamin A called retinoids are also recommended for those with psoriasis because it helps regulate cellular growth. Vitamin A is also known for its anti-aging properties. This skin vitamin can be found in foods such as milk, eggs, leafy greens and carrots.

  • B Complex

Commonly referred to as the energy vitamin, B complex also has another purpose. It can help give your skin a radiant glow by improving circulation. One component of B complex is vitamin B3 (niacin) which can help prevent acne. Food sources of B complex include broccoli, tomatoes and carrots.

  • Vitamin C

Vitamin C has antioxidants, which can help slow down the signs of aging. It also helps boost the production of collagen, which can result in smooth and young looking skin. You can get vitamin C by eating foods like broccoli, cauliflower and cucumbers.

  • Vitamin E

An antioxidant, vitamin E battles free radicals, which are one factor in aging. Vitamin E has been shown to reduce the appearance of age spots, stretch marks and wrinkles. Eat nuts, seeds and leafy greens to get plenty of vitamin C in your diet.

  • Vitamin A

This vitamin gives your nails moisture, when keeps them strong and flexible. Those that don’t get enough vitamin A might experience nails that break easily.

  • Vitamin C

The vitamin C helps prevent hangnails and tissue swelling. If you have either of these issues, then you might be low in vitamin C.

  • Biotin

Biotin helps you grow nails without them splitting or breaking. Foods high in biotin include Swiss chard, carrots, nuts, berries, milk and eggs.

  • Vitamin H

Vitamin H may help prevent split ends and is sometimes used to treat hair loss. Eat foods such as liver, eggs with the yolk and cheddar cheese. Whole wheat bread, avocados and raspberries are other food sources for vitamin H.

  • Niacin

Niacin is vitamin B3 and according to the University of Maryland Medical Center, it is necessary for blood circulation, which helps promote healthy hair. Tuna, chicken, turkey, pork, nuts, mushrooms and peas all have niacin.

  • Riboflavin

Also called vitamin B2, it is needed for normal cell function and growth, which includes growing healthy hair. Eat cheese, almonds, beef, oily fish and spinach to get riboflavin.

The best way to get vitamins for healthy skin, nails and hair is through food sources. Make sure you are eating a healthy, balanced diet and if your skin, nails and hair don’t look healthy, you might have a vitamin deficiency.
